I would like to take this time to thank everyone who participated in the 3rd Annual Armed Forces Operational Medical Symposium in New Orleans. Our goal was to maximize as many attendees from both uniformed services (Navy & Air Force) along with providing robust didactic and practical training opportunities for you to utilize at your commands or forward deployed.
Serving as your IDCA President for the past 18 months, I had a vision of how we could take this association to another level. The process have been slower than expected, but with the dedication of HMCS Repking (Vice), HMCS Macon (Secretary) and HMCS Klein (Treasurer), we have laid a good foundation for future endeavors. I have to acknowledge our AFOMS/IDCA Webmaster who is also a founding member of the IDCA, HMCS Richards. With many IDC's stationed abroad from coast to coast, the internet has served as a catalyst to keeping everyone updated with current related IDC events, and HMCS Richards played an integral role in executing all that you see with our site.
We initiated a formal election process this year to follow guidelines as stated in the "By Laws" and nominate new board members to take advantage of our best and brightest and provide continuity since we have several members who are returning back to sea duty or retiring. My committee will remain as advisors to the new team and continue to make a push for success. Without further delay, your new IDCA Board Members are:
PRESIDENT: HMCS Klein (NSSC, Norfolk)
VICE PRESIDENT: HMC Brey (BUMED)
TREASURER: HMCS Thomas (NSHS San Diego)
ASST. TREASURER: HMC Rubic (2nd MLG, Camp Lejeune)
SECRETARY: HM1 McDevitt (USS Roosevelt CVN 71)
ASST. SECRETARY: HM1 Davenport (NBC Patuxent River, MD)
WEBMASTER: HMCS Richards (EHSLANT, Norfolk)
ASST WEB: HMC Winslow (SPAWARS, Norfolk)
ASST WEB: HMC Shaeffer (Submarine Focre)
Please extend a congratulations to our new board members and lets give them the same support that we received over the past year. There are some good initiatives that are coming your way, so sit back and see our organization take to new heights.
HMCS Sean G. Pearson
