EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS

EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS COURSES: Hello Gurus - I am a hospital and public health emergency planner and I have completed practically all of the above courses and then some which are required for my position. There are hundreds of courses like the ones from TEEX, of which many colleges will accept as transferable credits, especially if one is majoring in emergency or disaster preparedness. Like TEEX, once you have completed the course and take the exams, one can receive their certificate via email from FEMA under the Emergency Management Institute. Here is the link: http://training.fema.gov/IS/crslist.asp  If you search the red block on this page it will provide you access to other coursess as well. Likewise, if you visit the Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM), they offer classroom courses in preparedness. Once you complete their courses you will receive a certificate. Here is their site: http://www.vaemergency.com/train/calendar_results.cfm?view=all

(Note: Practically, most states have similar training.  Best of all, ALL COURSES ARE FREE!!!  Take care.
