I see the uniform for Navy= Khakis/working white, I did not see the new NWU Kaki top and Black pant for enlisted on that list. Any idea if this is authorized for the confrence? Just got all new uni's and dumped whites and workin blues.
2009 IDC Conference: Parking at the Sheraton is $30 a day, even for registered guests. There is a pay per day parking lot about .2 miles away that only charges $15 a day (with online coupon). The company's name is Premium Parking. Visit their website if interested or call 504-565-5546 and hit option #3.

HM1, That is an acceptable uniform of the day for the conference. The conference webpage on this site has been updated to reflect that.
Thanks for the question!

Ya that's what I meant the Khaki and black pants, for the life of me I could not think of their new name.
HM1,
I'll double check, but as khaki shirt/black pants are an authorized uniform, there should be no problem.
NWUs are NOT currently authorized for wear during the conference. Unless Navy rules change that allow wearing in places not currently on the approved list, you cannot wear them at this event.
Will post any additional information on the conference pages.

Actually, a good point to bring up.
The organizers have made one trip out, and have one more before. Parking is outrageous at the hotels, and unless you are planning on doing a lot of outside the city site seeing, you don't need a vehicle at all.
There is a shuttle that will take you from the airport to the Sheraton for $15 each way (about a 20-30 minute trip). If we get a better rate, will post on the conference page http://www.navyidc.org/afoms2009
.
There are more restaurants and attractions within walking distance of the hotel than you will ever be able to visit. The trolley runs right down the street in front of the hotel, and if you like running, river walk is only about a nice 5 block walk. Really no need for a car or transportation that week.
The link to the airport transportation page is: http://www.flymsy.com/ground_transportation.htm
. The primary shuttle service there is Airport Shuttle New Orleans. Their website is: http://www.airportshuttleneworleans.com/
