Position Description- CSC has an immediate opening (11/01/2005) for a senior instructor in a Medical Simulation Training Center (MSTC).
The primary goal of the center and the instructor cadre is to teach the US Army Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 91W (Health Care Specialist) the new Tactical Casualty Care Course (TCCC), new Occupational Transitional subject matter and medical skill sets, and other subject matter to sustain both their MOS and the National Registry of EMTs EMT-Basic certification. The secondary goal is to provide Combat Life Saver (CLS) training to non-medical personnel assigned to active duty, Guard, and reserve forces that are assigned to or around that particular installation. Other tertiary functions
include instructing any other unit specific medical related Mission Essential Task List (METL)as required by the government customer. The senior instructor
will supervise and provide ongoing continuing education to the site's staff members. Other duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to performing
classroom instruction, conducting student cognitive and psychomotor skills assessments, developing and editing curricula, user maintenance of medical equipment,
developing medical simulator scenarios, managing site safety program, and ordering medical supplies.
Target Candidates- Applicants must have a minimum of four years of supervisory within the past eight years and two years of instructor experience within the past five years.
Candidate must have the following qualifications: American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Provider and Instructor, AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support Provider and Instructor, and Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) Provider and Instructor. Candidate should have one of the following backgrounds: 1. Prior Air Force Specialty
Code (AFSC) 4N071 with NREMT Intermediate or Paramedic 2. Prior AFSC 4N071C with EMT-Basic or higher level 3. Prior AFSC 1T271 with NREMT Intermediate or Paramedic 4. Prior MOS 91W with NREMT EMT-Intermediate or Paramedic 5. Prior MOS 18D or 18Z (with a 18D Secondary) with EMT-Basic or higher level 6. Prior Naval Enlisted Code (NEC) HM8402, HM8403, HM8425, or HM8491 with NREMT with EMT-Basic or higher level 7. Prior NEC 8401, 8427, or 8492 with NREMT EMT-Intermediate or Paramedic 8. EMS personnel holding a NREMT EMT-Paramedic certification with a tactical medicine background 9. Registered Nurse holding a NREMT EMT-Basic certification with a tactical medicine background 10. Individuals having a NREMT EMT-Basic with a tactical medicine background, and holds a secondary occupational license or certification of respiratory therapy or licensed practical nurse. All candidates must be proficient, at an intermediate level, in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint software, and must have basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Other Desirable Candidate Traits- Medical experiences related to Combat Arms, Special Operations, Medical Combat experience, Attendance or experience teaching TCCC or Operational Emergency Medical Skills and the 91W program. Other provider and instructor level medical certifications are a plus. Prior experience in use of Human Simulators and moulage is desirable.
