Maersk Line, Limited currently operates and maintains over fifty United States flag, unlimited tonnage vessels. MLL has contracted with the Seafarers International Union to crew the Medical Department Representative positions aboard our TAGOS class vessels. These vessels range from two hundred and fifty foot oceanographic type vessels to approximately seven hundred foot special mission vessels. All positions require USCG documentation, passport, valid drug screen, training record, background investigation, security clearance as appropriate, USCG/Union/and or MSC physical as appropriate, Union affiliation, and completion of specific training requirements. MLL can assist you with these requirements.
MLL will work with you to balance your goals and desires with our needs regarding your first assignment. The rotations are generally four to six months aboard these vessels. MLL will schedule and pay for all additional MSC contract required training beyond sailing requirements, including course fees, hotel, transportation, and provide you with the Joint Travel Regulations allowance (money) for subsistence. MLL arranges and pays for your transportation to our vessels. Normally, MLL would fax you a set of orders, travel flight itinerary, and a letter of instructions about the name and numbers of important points of contact, such as travel, ship agent and the office personnel. If a security clearance is necessary, MLL will assist you in applying for the clearance.
MLL does promote from within the company to the maximum extent possible. Our growth also allows us to offer greater advancement opportunities to our mariners. Advancement is both laterally between programs depending upon your goals and desires and vertically with higher licensing and billet availability. This is all dependent upon good evaluations, which we do for the professional growth and development of our mariners and continued commitment to quality. You are responsible to maintain your documents, drug free certificate, and Coast Guard required training to sail on your documents, which SIU will assist you with.
For consideration, please forward your resume, DD-214, and any letters of recommendation or other information you would like reviewed to me via E-Mail, USPS mail, or fax.
Sincerely
Dennis J. Houghton, SPHR
