I retired in 98 and settled in Iowa. I'm currently the Executive Director for Golden Living Center Tekamah, NE. I became a Board Licensed Nursing Home Administrator a few years ago. This is another excellent career opportunity for IDC's, especially those who completed the Bachelors of Science program from George Washington. The Nursing Home Administrator position offers numerous challenges, diverse areas of expertice and generous compensation. Some of you may remember me in that I started the IDC seminar format back in 94 at NavHosp Oakland. I'd enjoy hearing from any and all of you. Best regards, Jeff Schmidt.

Jeff,
I remember that you made of heck of a (LUCKY) catch in a good football game for us! I also think that someone got hurt on that play. Was it you? Probably not, because there would have been a second "Snivel Pig" in your honor.
Good on you pushing for a good post-IDC career choice. You must be getting fairly close to Geezerville yourself (although I should talk).

Jeff,
Mark Weldon here, retired HMCM/FORCM. Congratulations on your retirement, even though it was several years ago. M/C Rich Osborne and I were at BUMED (Surface and Undersea Medicine) at that time and helped (only slightly) as you put together the 1st conference. I'm sure a lot of old-timers remeber it as the finest IDC conference to date! In fact, I was just talking with FORCM Elliott, and NEITHER of us remember a single class!
Good to see you're doing well in retirement.
Mark
Jeff,
Chuck Davidson here retired HMCS who at the time was the Senior Instructor at IDC School in Portsmouth (John Brown was the Head) and we had a great conference and fantastic time in Oakland and environs. I am glad to hear you doing well in retirement. I am currently at Boeing in Mesa, Arizona and having a great time. Your message brought back a lot of good memories. Thanks for your efforts as the conferences continue with all the Thanks to you.

Female IDC here! I don't know why we have to distinguish the gender. An IDC is an IDC!! I just joined this wonderful site! I am so happyto see that we have it. All other sites have disbanded after a time. I know and served with many of you or during your active duty days. I just wrote to LT Mondak. Hope he replies. I retired in 2001. Does anyone know the whereabouts of Mike Stewart?
I attended both of the conferences you put on in Oakland had a great time at each. Good to hear that you are doing well. Do you ever hear from Norm Creel?
Talk about "Old School"... I remember you from AHCS - was it Class 32 or 33? I know you were there when I was HMC Mondak and I think you came to REFTRA later - or I saw you after that somewhere. Grey matter is diminishing, but there are somethings I do recall about you and many of my former students and, if you'll excuse the genderism - "fellow" IDCs. You are correct - there is need to make the male - female distinction.
Call on me any time.

It seems I erased what I had written. Yes, you were HMC Mondak. An outstanding instructor. While others played " Stump the Student" you taught and tested for knowledge. Thanks again!
I will call as soon as I get back to the states. Let's keep in touch. Take care. Maria
Your mention of the Snivel Pig brings back old memories.....
