Updated IDC Instruction is on the Streets

The new instruction, "Training, Certification, Supervision Program, and Employment of Independent Duty Hospital Corpsmen (IDCs)" has been released. This is almost a complete update rather than a simple revision, and should be reviewed completely.

It covers several areas including:
- Supervision requirements.
- Relationships between IDCs and the Physician Supervisor, Program manager and others in the Chain of Command.
- Use and employment of IDCs.
- Use and requirement for National Provider Identification (NPI) number.
- Restrictions on care they may provide, and requirements for consultation/supervision.
- Certification requirements (ACLS, TCCC, EMT-P, etc.)
- Increase in CME requirements.
- Samples of various program letters, CME requests, Funding requests, etc.
